Easter rushnyk

SKU: 0087

GUSHKA × Delikacia Collaboration — Bread Cloth [Rushnyk] In Ukraine, a bread cloth was used on weekdays to cover bread on the table, and at Easter — to cover the blessed paska and the Easter basket. It preserved the warmth of the baked goods and reminded people of the value of everyday things. The cloth protects the bread, and the bread fills the cloth with meaning. To create the fabric, the weaver sets up a large wooden loom with the help of her husband or son [as this requires two people]. She makes 1,600 passes, 1,600 strikes, and 1,600 foot pedal movements. Likewise, the baker holds the dough in their hands and every step in mind — mixing, fermentation, shaping and proofing, baking and cooling. Then we cover the fresh bread with the cloth, pack it, and send it to you. Material: 80% cotton, 20% polyester Size: 35 × 75 cm Tartine bread, yeast-free whole grain: premium wheat flour, whole wheat flour, drinking water, sourdough starter (flour, water), sea salt. Allergens: gluten. May contain traces of eggs, milk, and sesame. Limited quantity.
